Building Skills, Saving Lives:  UPD ROTC’s Basic Life Saving Lecture for CWTS Students

The UPD ROTC, in its ongoing commitment to service and community engagement, equipped students of the UP National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (NIMBB) and National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS) Community CWTS class with the essential skill of Basic Life Saving through an instructive lecture held at the NIMBB Auditorium on 13 November 2023.

C1Lt Brenden Ashley Q Molina 2Cl, C1Lt Audrey Rose T Crisostomo 2Cl,  C1Lt Jaygil C Blanco 2Cl, and C1Lt Shann Angela A Basilio 2Cl led the lecture and practicals, beginning with the fundamentals of Basic Life Saving, Primary Assessment, Secondary Assessment, and practical lessons on chest compressions, head-to-toe examinations and the recovery position. The NSTP ROTC Coordinator 2LT ELMAR JOHN O ANICIETE MAC (RES) was also in attendance to provide guidance throughout instructions.

The lecture and practicals concluded with an open forum for questions. Certificates of appreciation were given to the lecturers, and a class picture was taken marking the conclusion of the educational session.
