UP Diliman ROTC Unit Provides Basic Life Saving Lecture to CWTS NCPAG Class

The UP Diliman ROTC Unit delivered a lecture on basic life-saving for the students of the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) offered by UP Dilimanโ€™s National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG). The lecture was conducted in Classroom 2 at the Department of Military Science and Tactics (DMST) Complex last 17 April 2023.

The lecture, spearheaded by CMaj Elizabeth Kho 1Cl, introduced the purpose and principles of first aid and basic life-saving. Instructions further include the discussion on the first aid fundamental courses of action, such as primary assessment, treatment, and secondary assessment. Also, CWTS students were provided knowledge on first aid treatments for immediately life-threatening emergencies and emergency rescue transfer.

The CWTS students were asked to actively participate and demonstrate the concepts learned. All were tasked to perform an improvised tourniquet, treatment for shock and foreign body airway obstruction, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), one-man assist-to-walk, firemanโ€™s carry, two-man carry, and an improvised stretcher.

A class picture with the lecturer, CMaj Elizabeth C Kho 1Cl, was taken before the class was officially dismissed.
