Sulong Cadet Athletes: Reaching Far and Beyond

Beyond their dedication to community service, the UPD ROTC is renowned for its competitive spirit, earning the reputation of being the snappiest and mightiest Corps of Cadets. Driven by an unwavering commitment to excellence, the UPD ROTC cadets once again proved their tenacity in the 2023 Philippine ROTC Games, bringing home numerous victories.

Among these achievements is Pvt Josie Inemedo PA (Res) who bagged the gold medal in the Women’s 200-meter dash category at the Philippine ROTC Games National Championships on 25 October 2023 held at PhilSports Track Oval in Pasig City. She outperformed Cadet-Athletes from ROTC units across the country with her remarkable time of 26.64 seconds, even surpassing her previous NCR leg performance of 27.43 seconds on 11 October.

UPD ROTC bursts with pride, sending their warm congratulations to Pvt Inemedo. Her victory is a testament to her relentless spirit and determination.

The applause did not stop there, as the Arnis Team slashed their way through a podium finish in the Philippine ROTC Games 2023 NCR Leg – Arnis Competition. CCpt Glenmar S Montaño 1Cl clinched the bronze in the Men’s Full Contact division on 13 October, while CPvt Moira Araullo 4Cl secured a bronze in the Women’s Full Contact category on 12 October. Moreover, let us not forget the remarkable performances of all our very own cadet athletes who showcased their exceptional skills across different sports. Participating in this event alone is an achievement in itself, embodying the core values of UPD ROTC and the pursuit of success. These triumphs serve as a reminder that with perseverance, hard work, and unwavering dedication to excellence, anything is possible.
