This 125th Independence Anniversary, join the University of the Philippines Cadet Alumni Organization (UPCAO), the University of the Philippines Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (UP ROTC), and other participating stakeholders in a donation drive to send care packages to our soldiers and schools in the West Philippine Sea!
Though we live today (relatively) free of the threat of invasion, the cost to protect our independence is the comfort of Filipino troops and families stationed in far-flung areas like the West Philippine Sea Islands and Basilan. In such remote areas, even essential supplies can be hard to come by without outside assistance. Donations for Pag-asa+ will give our soldiers and students exactly that, boosting the morale of the former and nation-building by serving the latter. If you have school supplies, dictionaries, art supplies, gardening supplies, and books for school children that you’re willing to donate, we’ll package them for you and deliver them to Pag-asa Island Elementary School and Campo Uno Elementary School in Lamitan, Basilan. Other items for schools include chalk, solar-powered lighting and rechargeable fans.
Meanwhile, for the care packages for our troops in the West Philippine Sea, Samar, Leyte and Basilan, we’re looking for items like packaged foods, toiletries, utility gear, medical supplies, camping gear, and letters of encouragement.
Every donation counts, no matter how big or small.
For in-kind donations, you may drop them off at the UP Department of Military Science and Tactics (UP DMST) Complex in UP Diliman, Quezon City. Our cadet officers will be happy to assist you. You may also text CLtC Gonzales A of the UP Corps of Cadets at 09065428514 to inform us in advance.
