UPD ROTC Unit Renders Service During Turnover Ceremony of UP Presidents

The University of the Philippines (UP) enters a new chapter as Atty. Angelo Jimenez replaces Atty. Danilo Concepcion to begin his term as the 22nd President of the University.

Atty. Jimenez and Atty. Concepcion were given arrival honors by the UPD ROTC Rayadillo Unit, led by the Corps Commander, CCOL FERGIE JOHN O FRANGE 1CL. The Commandant and Department Head of the UP Diliman Department of Military Science and Tactics, COL RANDY O REMONTE INF (GSC) PA, served as the military host.

The UP Presidents then inspected the Honor Guards composed of cadets and cadet officers from the UP Diliman ROTC Unit. Both incoming and outgoing presidents conveyed their gratitude and appreciation for the warm welcome before proceeding with the turnover.

Along with the UP Rayadillo, the UP Corps of Sponsors (Diliman), led by Corps Sponsor Rixie Anne Larga, also provided ushering detail for the event while the UP ROTC Band, under the baton of James Ryan Mixto, performed the martial music during the honors and the Philippine National Anthem, the UP Naming Mahal, and the Push on UP during the rest of the program.

The newly-proclaimed president completed his oath and brought the program to a conclusion with a speech detailing his vision and the path the University and its community could take: a future centered on service for the nation.

UP ROTC is honored to be part of such a key and important event.
