After more than two years of online and remote instruction, UP Diliman finally reopens its face-to-face ROTC training to its cadets. An opening program for the ROTC Military Science 2 (ROTC Mil Sci 2) was held at the Department of Military Science and Tactics (DMST) Complex last 18 February 2023.
The Assistant Commandant of UP Diliman ROTC Unit, MAJ FERDINAND PAOLO S QUIOCHO (PROF) PA, welcomed the cadets as they started their first training day. He also formally opened the ROTC Mil Sci 2 course.
UP Diliman NSTP Director, Professor Dennis F Quilala, also graced the ceremony as he delivered his keynote message to the cadets. The Director of the 1302nd Community Defense Center, LTC DEMIER A BACASMAS (AGS) PA, closed the program with his remarks.
During the opening program, cadets were also introduced to the members of the DMST administrative and training staff, the cadet officers, and the sponsors. After which, the cadets and their platoon leaders went to their respective classrooms for the course orientation and instructions on DMST Standard Operating Procedures.
The first training day concluded with the cadets chanting in high morale and good spirits as they marched off the DMST Complex.
